A reminder to be reading something outside of class. You will write your first DEAR blog in class on Friday!

Monday
1st & 4th
  • Gallery Walk introduction of extreme adventures. 
5th & 7th
  • #Sharrington SS review and test.

Tuesday
1st & 4th
  • We will watch the TED talk "To the South Pole and Back," which details an extreme journey through Antarctica. We will use the strategy of viewing with a question in mind to analyze the presentation. 
5th & 7th
  • Using the Inquiry Process we will develop questions for our upcoming AOW discussion. We will use this presentation to gain some background information on the topic.  
  • We will then read and annotate this article to prepare for our discussion.

Wednesday
1st & 4th
  • We will analyze chunks of the TED talk transcript from yesterday's video in Google Classroom. See your classroom page for more info.
​5th & 7th
  • We will begin our National Anthem Guided Research to prepare for our AOW discussions on Thursday. We will take notes using this note taking device.

Thursday
1st & 4th
  • We will be reading about and discussing other extreme adventures including:
    • This article about a 17-year old pilot's tragic quest with this discussion guide
    • This article about a deepsea challenge with this discussion guide
    • An article about an extreme kayaking challenge with this discussion guide
    • And this article about climbing El Capitan with this discussion guide. 
5th & 7th 
  • We will be  having our AOW discussion using this discussion guide and this rubric. For Homework - complete your AOW reflection (at the bottom of the discussion guide).
